Gopabandhu Government ITI, Ambaguda is one of the premier Institution of the undivided Koraput district as well as of the State. This Institution was established by Govt.of India during 1969 and subsequently handed over to State Govt. w.e.f. 13.8.1975. Now this ITI is functioning under Skill Development and Technical Education, Govt. of Odisha. It imparts Craftsman Training (C.T.). At present, 14 numbers of different trades are running under CTS pattern. This Institution has been declared as “STRIVE” ITI “Skill Strengthening for Industrial Value Enhancement” by the DGT, New Delhi, Govt. of India with a new vision to provide multi skilled workforce in order to cope up with the modern industrial scenario emerging around the Globe. In addition to providing Craftsmen Training, it also imparts training in some informal Sectors such as Training under Employment Mission, Training to the landoustee candidates sponsored by different Companies, Training under PMKVY introduced by DGT, New Delhi. This institution has not only played a key role to provide technicians to the industries of this district like NALCO, Damnjodi, Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, Sunabeda, M/S. J.K.Paper Mills, Ltd., Jakaypur but also to full-fill the requirements of our nation, to decrease the unemployment and also trained the youths for self-employments. This institution has also achieved 7.2 grading scores conducted by DGT New Delhi.
